Purpleframe launches an interactive website in stereoscopy - August 10, 2009 The new initiatives team at Purpleframe have been experimenting on the use of stereoscopy in education and as an experiment has launched an interactive website. One has to wear the Red-Blue glasses in order to view and feel the depth of the text and other visual elements in the website. The management feels that stereoscopy is the next thing in education. Also known as immersive 3d currently a lot of demos are being developed in the field of medical imaging, k12 education and engineering trainings. It is so exciting to watch the planets coming out of the screen or watch the foetus of a baby in stereoscopic 3d. This not only builds a retention it makes the content interesting and fun to learn. One of the fundamental rules followed in graphics, photography or any multimedia content is emphasizing the object being described and in stereoscopic 3d this can be achieved very effectively. An example would be a gear wheel popping out of the screen when it is being described or when you want to see the planet Mars, on a click event it just pops up out of the screen giving a better emphasis on the subject.
